Working at Carrefour Malaysia absolutely helped me adapt to different work methods. I sometimes had to be responsive, meet close deadlines and work hard evenings and weekends during communications events. But I believe what I was most impressed by was the professional and personal closeness of the colleagues. It was even more remarkable considering that Malaysia is a culturally mixed country: Malaysians, Chinese and Indians. And whether at agency briefings or internal meetings, joking is always encouraged via Facebook, Twitter or Foursquare, etc. Doing a presentation before the Managing Director or clubbing with the Director, it's all possible in Malaysia!
