Dr. Reza Zanjirani Farahani : #19 in the France Research.com Listing 2026 

Dr. Reza Zanjirani Farahani, Professor of Supply Chain Management at Paris School of Business, has been recognized in the 2026 Research.com ranking of leading scientists in Business and Management, where he is ranked #19 in France. 

This distinction highlights the impact and visibility of his research, reflected in an extensive publication record of 137 scientific articles, over 12,000 citations, and a D-Index of 46. 

This recognition underscores Professor Farahani’s significant contribution to advancing knowledge in Business and Management and further reinforces Paris School of Business’s reputation for internationally recognized research.

 

Dr. Sumayya Shaikh - Best Communication Award Association Française du Marketing

Dr. Sumayya Shaikh, Assistant Professor of Marketing at Paris School of Business, has received the Best Communication Award from the Association Française du Marketing (AFM).

Her award-winning paper, “Red today, green tomorrow? How packaging color shapes identity continuity and acceptance of hybrid meat products,” co-authored with Kelly Haws, Carolina Werle, and Amanda Pruski Yamim, examines how packaging colors—particularly red and green—influence consumer perceptions and acceptance of hybrid meat products. The study addresses a key challenge in encouraging more sustainable consumption practices. 

Dr. Shaikh has also been selected as a Thesis Finalist, further underscoring the rigor, relevance, of her work. 

In line with PSB’s core research mission, this recognition highlights the quality of her research and its contribution to a better understanding of consumer behavior in the context of sustainability. 

 

Dr. Rahman Khan - Best Paper Finalist -  European Academy of Management 

The paper “AI-Driven HRM and Employee Exhaustion: The Protective Role of Leader Emotional Support,” co-authored by Dr. Rahman Khan, Professor of Management and Dr. Qurat-ul-ain Talpur, Professor of Marketing at Paris School of Business, has been selected as a finalist for the EURAM 2026 Best Paper Award. This distinction places their work among the top two papers presented at the conference, recognizing the originality and relevance of their research at the intersection of human resource management and artificial intelligence. 

Presented at EURAM 2026, held from June 16–19 in Norway under the theme “Navigating High Waters: Managing in an Age of Disruption,” the paper contributes to current debates on the impact of digital transformation on employee well being. 

The European Academy of Management (EURAM) advances management scholarship in Europe. By supporting diverse perspectives and providing a platform for academic exchange across a wide range of research traditions and themes.

 

Dr. Mickael Melki - Fondation des Sciences Sociales (FSS) Prize 2026–2027

Dr. Mickael Melki, Professor of Economics at Paris School of Business, has been awarded the 2026–2027 Fondation des Sciences Sociales Prize for his research on nation-building and the emergence of the welfare state under the French Third Republic. 

This is the second time Dr. Melki has received this distinction, following his 2024–2025 Fondation des Sciences Sociales Prize, which recognized his research on the demographic transition in Europe. 

 

The Stanford/Elsevier Global Ranking, 2025

Dr. Khaled Guesmi, Professor of Finance and Director of the Center for Research in Energy and Climate Change (CRECC) at Paris School of Business, has once again been ranked among the top 2% of the world’s most-cited researchers. 

This prestigious recognition comes from the latest global ranking published by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier. This annual ranking identifies researchers whose scientific contributions have had a significant impact across disciplines, based on a rigorous analysis of citation data from Scopus, one of the world’s leading bibliographic databases. 

Being featured in this list for a second time underscores Professor Guesmi’s sustained excellence in academic research and his influence within the global scholarly community.  

 

Dr. Jiri Tresl Completes Habilitation at the University of Mannheim, 2025

We congratulate Dr. Jiri Tresl, Professor of Finance at PSB, on successfully obtaining his habilitation in Business Administration from the University of Mannheim. 

This accomplishment marks a significant and prestigious milestone, both in his academic career and in the continued advancement of our institution’s scholarly excellence. The habilitation recognizes exceptional research capability, teaching excellence, and independent scholarly contribution. 

Dr. Tresl’s achievement reflects his dedication, expertise, and impact within the academic community.  

 

New PhD in Management Dr. Masoud Shayganmehr, 2025

We congratulate Dr. Masoud Shayganmehr, Assistant Professor of Management at PSB, for successfully defending his PhD thesis in Management. Dr. Shayganmehr’s research in Information Systems was conducted at NEOMA Business School, France.

This milestone in his career reflects years of dedication and rigorous work, contributing valuable insights to the field of management.

 

Wissal Ben Arfi, ACIEK Academy of Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Knowledge, 2025 

Dr. Wissal Ben Arfi, Head of the Marketing and Communication Department, was awarded Best Paper at the 22nd Edition of the ACIEK Academy Conference, held in Spain and hosted by the University of Alcalá from 18-20 June. 

Her award-winning paper, “From Pixels to Profit: AI-Driven Trading and Consumer Well-Being in Virtual Markets,” offers a compelling analysis of how artificial intelligence is reshaping digital marketplaces and influencing consumer behavior and well-being in the virtual age. 

This recognition not only celebrates Dr. Wissal Ben Arfi’s outstanding research, but also highlights her deep commitment to academic excellence and forward-thinking scholarship in the fields of artificial intelligence, innovation, and digital transformation. 

The ACIEK (Academy of Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Knowledge) Conference brings together leading global scholars advancing theory and practice in innovation and knowledge. 

 

PSB Research Office Awards 2024–2025 

This year, the PSB Research Office recognized three outstanding scholars whose work exemplifies academic excellence and societal impact: 

  • Established Researcher of the Year Dr. Francesco Appio 

Professor of Management and expert in innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation. Widely published in leading journals and currently serving in multiple editorial roles. 

  • Junior Researcher of the Year: Dr. Whelsy Boungou 

Assistant Professor of Finance, whose research focuses on banking, financial stability, climate change, and monetary economics. 

  • Most Media-Featured Researcher: Dr. Thomas Porcher 

Professor of Economics and a leading voice on energy and finance. Regular contributor to France Inter (the most popular radio station in France, with over 5 million listeners) and other major media outlets. Author of L’économie pour les 99%. 

These awards celebrate not only academic excellence, but also real-world impact and thought leadership. The prize-winning professors’ remarkable research journeys embody these values and serves as an inspiration to their peers. 

 

Mickael Melki, Fondation pour les Sciences Sociales, 2024-2025 

Dr. Mickael Melki, Professor of Economics, was awarded the 2024–2025 prize from the Fondation pour les Sciences Sociales for his research project titled "Migration et Diffusion des Normes de Fécondité Modernes en Europe" (Migration and Dissemination of Modern Fertility Norms in Europe). Initiated during his research stay at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), the project explores how migration influences the spread of modern fertility norms across European societies. Recognized for its originality and societal relevance, this work offers valuable insights into the interplay between demographic change and cultural transformation in contemporary Europe. 

 

Wissal Ben Arfi, 20th Academy of Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Knowledge Conference (ACIEK Conference), 4-6 June 2024, IAE Sorbonne, Paris 

Wissal Ben Arfi, Head of the Marketing Department, received the Elsevier Best Paper Award for her paper “Navigating the Green Wave: Understanding Behavioural Antecedents in Sustainable Cryptocurrency Investments.” The paper, co-authored with Dragan, G. B., Arfi, W. B., Tiberius, V., Ammari, A., and Khvatova, T., has been recognized for its outstanding contribution to the field. 

  

The award was presented at the 20th Academy of Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Knowledge Conference (ACIEK Conference), held on 4-6 June 2024, at IAE Sorbonne in Paris.   

 

Wissal Ben Arfi, CCMP/FNEGE, 2024 

Wissal Ben Arfi, Head of the Marketing Department, won the CCMP/FNEGE* prize for the best research-related case study with her paper “VOISIN: The Digital Strategy of a Renowned Chocolatier,” co-authored with Professors Yousra Hallem and Frédéric Aubrun from INSEEC. *CCMP (Centrales des Cas et Médias Pédagogiques) / FNEGE (Fondation Nationale pour l'Enseignement de la Gestion Des Entreprises)

Marta Ballatore, Association Information & Management - AIM 

Marta Ballatore was honoured with first runner-up award for her thesis titled: “The Role(s) of Blockchain in the Evolution of Inter-Organizational Relationships: An Analysis of Digital Servitization in the Automotive Industry” (“Le(s) rôle(s) de la blockchain dans l’évolution des relations inter-organisations: Une analyse de la servicisation digitale dans l’industrie automobile”). This work was completed under the supervision of Lise Arena and Agnès Festre at Université Côte d’Azur - Laboratoire GREDEG.

Yosr Ben Tahar and Meriam Razgallah, 9th International Workshop on Entrepreneurship Research (GEM-ACEDE) Coruña, 19 - 21 September 2024 

Yosr Ben Tahar and Meriam Razgallah, both Professors of Management, were recognized for their outstanding research at the 9th International Workshop on Entrepreneurship Research (GEM-ACEDE) in A Coruña, held from 19 to 21 September 2024. Their paper, “The Entrepreneurs' Social Identity and Sustainable Orientation: The Key Role of Entrepreneurial Passion”, co-authored with Sufia Mohand Amar, received the Best Paper Award in the thematic area of Entrepreneurship and Institutions, Best Practices, and Social Economy. 

Their study examines the impact of entrepreneurial social identity on sustainability orientation and ecological trade-offs. Notably, the findings show that Missionary and Communitarian identities are associated with a stronger commitment to sustainability, with sustainability orientation acting as a bridge between Missionary identity and ecological decision-making.  

The GEM-ACEDE workshop, hosted by the Spanish Entrepreneurship Observatory and ACEDE’s Entrepreneurship Section, is a leading forum for scholars, researchers, and industry professionals. It provides a valuable platform for addressing the evolving challenges of entrepreneurship while encouraging innovation and collaboration.

Samir Saadi and Syrine, Sustainable Financial Innovation Centre Annual Conference, November 25–26, 2023 

At the Sustainable Financial Innovation Centre Annual Conference held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on November 25–26, 2023, distinguished recognition was awarded to Dr. Samir Saadi, Professor of Finance, and Dr. Syrine Sassi, Associate Professor of Finance and Project Manager at CRECC, alongside their esteemed collaborators Dr. Sadok El Ghoul and Dr. Omrane Guedhami. Their groundbreaking research, titled “Operating Inflexibility and Greenhouse Gas Emissions: International Evidence,” was celebrated for its critical contribution to understanding the environmental impact of corporate operational structures. The study offers compelling international insights into how inflexible business operations correlate with higher greenhouse gas emissions, providing vital implications for sustainable financial strategies and policymaking worldwide. 

 

Charles Perez and Karina Sokolova, 10th Multidisciplinary International Social Networks Conference 2023 

Dr. Charles Perez and Dr. Karina Sokolova, Associate Professors of Management, were awarded for their research titled “Is There a Community of French Fitness Influencers on YouTube? A Social Network Analysis Approach to YouTube Engagement” at the 10th Multidisciplinary International Social Networks Conference 2023, held at the National University of Kaohsiung, Taiwan (September 4–6). Their study applies social network analysis to investigate the structure and engagement patterns of French fitness influencers on YouTube, offering valuable insights into the formation and dynamics of online influencer communities.

PSB Research Awards 2025 – 2026

This year, the PSB Research Office recognized three outstanding scholars whose work exemplifies academic excellence, intellectual leadership, and societal relevance.

 

Established Researcher of the Year :Dr. Reza Zanjirani Farahani

Dr. Reza Zanjirani Farahani, Professor in Supply Chain Management at Paris School of Business, is the author of nearly 100 articles published in leading academic journals. His research focuses on operations management, logistics, and supply chains, with applications in sectors including healthcare, energy, the circular economy, and agri-food systems. 

He also holds senior editorial roles with journals such as Production and Operations Management Journal, Transportation Research Part E, and Decision Sciences. In addition, he has chaired major international conferences, including POMS Brighton 2019 and POMS Paris 2023, and has secured significant research funding, notably through a Horizon Europe project on textile circularity. 

 

Junior Researcher of the Year : Dr. Francis Osei-Tutu 

Dr. Francis Osei-Tutu, Assistant Professor of Finance at Paris School of Business, conducts research on the relationship between finance and economic development, with particular emphasis on the policies and institutions that support efficient financial systems. His work has been published in leading journals, including Journal of World Business, International Review of Financial Analysis, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, Energy Economics, and Journal of Financial Services Research.

 

Most Media-Featured Researcher : Dr. Raphaël Boroumand

Professor of Economics at Paris School of Business, Dr. Raphaël Boroumand actively contributes to public debate and knowledge dissemination through frequent media appearances, logside his academic work, he. His expertise in economics, energy, and climate policy is regularly featured across a broad range of French and international outlets, including television, business media, the press, and radio.

He is also the co-author of 20 idées reçues sur l’énergie (De Boeck, 2015) and Economy and Climate: The False Dilemma (De Boeck Supérieur 2026). 

These awards celebrate academic excellence, public engagement, and the ability of research to inform wider societal debates. The achievements of this year’s award recipients reflect these values and provide an inspiring example for the PSB research community.
