PSB Research Office proudly welcomed Professor Omrane Guedhami, C. Russell Hill Professor of International Finance at the Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina, for an enriching visit.  

On this occasion, the PSB Research Office hosted a special Meet-the-Editor workshop, on 12 June, led by Prof. Guedhami, who drew on his distinguished editorial experience with top-tier journals in International Business, Finance, and Accounting. His dynamic and insightful session offered PSB researchers a precious inside look at the editorial process, evolving expectations in scholarly publishing, and the key ingredients for high-impact research. 

This event significantly contributed to strengthening our research culture, empowering faculty with practical strategies to navigate the publishing landscape and elevate the visibility and rigor of their work.

Paris School of Business is delighted to announce the upcoming edition of its “Meet the Editor” workshop, taking place on June 12, 2025.

Professor Thomas C. Lawton, Editor-in-Chief of Long Range Planning, 3 April 2025 

Professor Thomas C. Lawton, Editor-in-Chief of Long Range Planning (ABS 4), one of the world’s leading journals in strategic management, was the guest of the “Meet the Editor” workshop held on April 3 at the PSB Research Office. The event was organized by Dr. Nessrine Omrani, Head of the Management and Strategy Department, and Dr. Francesco Paolo Appio, and provided a unique opportunity for participants to engage with a leading voice in the field. 

Throughout the day, participants engaged in rich and constructive discussions, benefiting from Professor Lawton’s expert insights into the editorial expectations of top-tier academic journals. His contributions—both as a distinguished editor and a renowned scholar—offered invaluable guidance to researchers presenting their work-in-progress papers, helping them refine their approach and explore new scholarly directions.

Professor Giampaolo Viglia, Editor-in-Chief of the prestigious Journal of Psychology & Marketing, 14-15 January 2025 

On January 14–15, an enriching and high-impact Meet-the-Editor Workshop took place, led by Dr. Wissal Ben Arfi, Head of the Marketing Department. The event welcomed Professor Giampaolo Viglia—Editor-in-Chief of the prestigious Journal of Psychology & Marketing (ABS 3*)—as the esteemed keynote speaker. 

This dynamic and intellectually stimulating workshop offered an exceptional opportunity for scholars to connect directly with one of the foremost figures in marketing research and academic publishing. 

Participants benefited from in-depth discussions with Professor Viglia, gaining rare insights into the intricacies of publishing in high-impact journals. They received tailored feedback on their research, explored cutting-edge methodologies, and sharpened their strategies for academic success.

On March 7, 2024, PSB had the pleasure of hosting Professor Mirella Kleijnen, co-Editor in Chief of the Journal of Business Research (JBR), for the third edition of the Meet the Editor Workshop. 

Organized by Dr. Nessrine Omrani and Professor Francesco Paolo, the interdisciplinary event featured a compelling keynote by Professor Kleijnen, followed by lively discussions around submitted research papers. 

The workshop offered a unique opportunity for researchers to gain editorial insights and engage in meaningful academic exchange, reinforcing PSB’s commitment to research excellence.  

Leadership féminin : Levier d’engagement RSE et de performance ?, 12 June 2025 

On 12 June 2025, the PSB Research Office's final Matinale of the academic year brought together researchers, professionals and committed stakeholders at the Paris School of Business to discuss a strategic topic at the heart of today’s transformations: Women's leadership: a leverage for CSR commitment and performance? (Leadership féminin : Levier d'engagement RSE et de performance?) 

Our guest speakers shared invaluable expertise and real-world insights that continue to inspire and drive forward research on this topic. Dr. Nathalie Bitbol-Saba, Professor of Finance at PSB, also contributed with key academic insights drawn from her latest research. 

By combining research findings and feedback from the field, the discussions highlighted the synergies between the feminization of governance bodies, responsible governance and the overall performance of organizations.

Ecosystem of Women Entrepreneurship, 27 March 2025 

On March 27, an inspiring Matinale brought together a diverse audience of practitioners, researchers, professors, and students for a lively and thought-provoking exchange on female entrepreneurship. The discussion centered on the critical support women need both before launching their ventures and throughout their entrepreneurial journey. 

The event opened with a powerful overview of the French entrepreneurial ecosystem, setting the stage for two dynamic roundtables. These sessions featured a range of experts and practitioners who shared valuable insights into the key enablers, persistent challenges, and emerging opportunities for empowering women in business. 

Co-organized by PSB and the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Lab Chair at the University of Montpellier, the event was led by Karim Messeghem, Dr. Wissal Ben Arfi (Head of the Marketing Department), and Madjid Yahiaoui (Professor of Entrepreneurship at PSB). With support from the PSB Research Office, this initiative exemplifies the School’s dedication to connecting academic research, education, and real-world entrepreneurship. 

Through rich dialogue and collaborative reflection, the Matinale underscored the importance of inclusive support systems and reaffirmed a shared commitment to advancing female entrepreneurship in France. 

 

Digital Advertising and Its Carbon Footprint: Exploring Sustainable Solutions, 06 February 2025 

The fifth edition of the PSB Research Office Breakfast Meeting brought together leading voices in digital innovation and sustainability for a compelling discussion on the environmental impact of digital advertising.  

Renowned industry experts—Marc Leprat (Co-Founder and President, ViewPay), Arthur Millet (Director General, Alliance Digitale), and Paul-Antoine Strullu (Director EMEA, Scope3)—led the conversation, delving into the urgent ecological challenges posed by digital advertising. Key discussion points included: 

  • The carbon footprint of digital advertising and its broader environmental consequences
  • Reliable methods and standards for measuring impact and driving meaningful change
  • The evolving role of regulation, industry best practices, and shared responsibility among stakeholders
  • Balancing privacy concerns with the need for digital sobriety
  • The critical contribution of internet users in fostering a more responsible digital ecosystem
  • The rising energy demands of generative AI and its implications 

Dr. Christelle Aubert Hassouni offered valuable scientific insights, while Dr. Demba Ousmane DIOUF, both Professors of Marketing at PSB, skillfully moderated the session.

Corporate Open Innovation Labs : What are the keys to driving open innovation? , 12 December 2024 

The fourth edition of the PSB Research Office Breakfast Meeting sparked a dynamic exchange focused on best practices for advancing open innovation within corporate innovation labs (iLabs). 

We were pleased to welcome Jean-Louis Compeau, Head of SEBLab at Groupe SEB, and Christophe Lienard, Central Director of Innovation at Bouygues—two key figures in the development of open labs within large organizations. They generously shared their varied experiences, practical approaches, and the real-world challenges they encounter in this rapidly evolving field. 

Bringing valuable research-driven perspectives to the conversation, Dr. Valérie MÉRINDOL and Dr. David W. VERSAILLES—Professors in Management and Strategy at PSB and co-Chairs of the NewPIC Chair—contributed thought-provoking insights into the strategic and organizational complexities of open innovation.

 

Green Finance : How Can Companies Support Sustanability and Climate Action ? 10 October 2024 

The third PSB Research Office Breakfast Meeting, organized in partnership with Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, offered an insightful and thought-provoking discussion on the evolving landscape of sustainable finance. The event was skillfully moderated by Marc-Arthur DIAYE, Professor at Université Paris 1, and brought together a distinguished panel of experts from academia, industry, and public institutions. 

Panelists included: 

  • Himadou ALOU, Head of Public Affairs and Regulation at Sequantis LT Consulting
  • Khaled GUESMI, Researcher and Director of the Energy and Climate Change Research Center at PSB
  • Antoine MANDEL, Co-founder of CLIMAFIN and Professor at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne
  • Diane MENVILE, Director of Treasury and Capital Markets at AFD 

Together, they explored a wide range of pressing issues, from the environmental and economic challenges that businesses face, to the importance of regulatory frameworks and incentive mechanisms. The conversation also delved into region-specific dynamics, comparing developments in Europe with those in emerging markets. 

This engaging session highlighted the growing complexity—and urgency—of embedding sustainability into financial systems, offering valuable perspectives for professionals, researchers, and policy-makers alike. 

 

"Customer experience and consumer expectations: What open innovation strategies?", 13 June 2024 

Held on 13 June 2024, the second edition of the PSB Research Office Breakfast Meetings brought together an audience composed o professionals, researchers, alumni, and students for an in-depth discussion on the theme: “Customer Experience and Consumer Expectations: What Open Innovation Strategies?” 

The session explored how companies can leverage open innovation to better understand and respond to rapidly evolving consumer needs in the digital age. Drawing on academic research conducted in real business settings, and enriched by practical insights from industry experts, the event offered a compelling look at how strategic innovation is reshaping customer engagement. 

Active participation from the PSB community—alumni, corporate partners, faculty, and students—fueled a rich and dynamic exchange. The discussion underscored the importance of anticipating customer expectations as a key driver for competitiveness and innovation in today’s fast-moving markets.

“Adopting Generative AI: Opportunities and Challenges for Businesses”, 4 April 2024 

The inaugural session of the PSB Research Office Breakfast Meetings took place on 4 April 2024, opening with a timely and thought-provoking discussion: “Adopting Generative AI: Opportunities and Challenges for Businesses.” 

The session delved into the transformative potential of generative AI, highlighting both the vast opportunities it presents for innovation and productivity, as well as the ethical, operational, and strategic challenges it raises. Through a combination of cutting-edge academic research and real-world insights from professionals already integrating generative AI into their business practices, the discussion offered a well-rounded exploration of this emerging field. 

The exchange was further energized by the thoughtful participation of PSB alumni, corporate partners, faculty, and students. Their diverse perspectives sparked dynamic debates and fostered a rich, collaborative dialogue on how businesses can navigate this technological shift. 

The PSB Research Lab Breakfast Meetings are designed to build bridges between academic inquiry and professional practice—creating a space where researchers and industry leaders come together to exchange ideas, address real-world challenges, and co-create innovative solutions.

International Conference on Customer Experience and Marketing (ICCEM) 

 

3rd International Conference on Customer Experience and Marketing- ICCEM 

The 3rd International Conference on Customer Experience and Marketing (ICCEM 2025) took place in Bucharest Romania, alongside the 6th International Management Conference (CIM 2025) on 15-16 May 2025, in Bucharest. 

Co-organized by Paris School of Business (France), the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Universitatea, Dunărea de Jos” din Galați (Romania), and Cadi Ayyad University’s Research Laboratory on New Management Practices (Morocco), ICCEM reaffirmed its commitment to advancing academic excellence and fostering international, interdisciplinary collaboration across the fields of marketing, customer experience, and management. 

The conference featured an inspiring lineup of keynote speakers, while the interactive sessions and thought-provoking contributions from participants greatly enriched the discussions and overall value of the event. 

Following the success of this third edition, Paris School of Business is delighted to announce that it will host the 4th edition of ICCEM in Paris next year. 

 

The 2nd Edition of the International Conference on Customer Experience and Marketing (ICCEM) , 30 and 31 May 2024, Cadi-Ayyad University of Marrakesh.  

Co-organized by Paris School of Business, Université Cadi Ayyad – Laboratory of New Management Practices, and Universitatea „Dunărea de Jos”, the 2024 edition of the International Conference on Contemporary Economic and Management (ICCEM) centered around the forward-looking theme: “Navigating the Future: Embracing the Transformative Power of Emerging Technologies.” 

This year’s conference was held in conjunction with the 4th edition of the International Management Conference, creating a dynamic platform for dialogue between academics and practitioners in marketing and management. Across sessions and discussions, participants explored how technological innovation is reshaping business models, consumer behavior, and broader societal trends. 

A key highlight of the event was the announcement by The Journal of Macromarketing, which invited paper submissions for a special issue dedicated to the intersection of data-driven decision-making and the integration of emerging technologies into macro marketing strategies. 

Grounded in rigorous research and real-world applications, ICCEM 2024 aimed to offer meaningful insights into the challenges and opportunities presented by current economic and technological transitions—equipping attendees with tools to better understand and navigate change in an increasingly complex world

1st International Conference on Customer Experience & Marketing - ICCEM, 9 June 2023, PSB  

In partnership with Cadi Ayyad University (Morocco) and "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati (Romania), PSB Paris School of Business launched the first edition of the International Conference on Customer Experience & Marketing (ICCEM). 

This inaugural event brought together researchers and professionals from five countries and over 15 academic institutions, creating a dynamic space for dialogue around the latest challenges and emerging trends in marketing—particularly those centered on the evolving customer experience. 

The conference was enriched by the participation of two prestigious academic journals: the Journal of Innovation Economics & Management and the Journal of Business Research, both lending their support to the dissemination of cutting-edge insights. 

Designed as a platform for both academics and industry practitioners, ICCEM highlighted rigorously conducted studies that shed light on the impacts of ongoing economic, technological, and social transitions. It offered a valuable opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of how customer expectations are reshaping marketing strategies and organizational practices. 

This first edition marks the beginning of a promising international dialogue on customer-centric marketing in a transforming world.

13th International Conference of the Financial Engineering and Banking Society (FEBS), 20-22 June 2024, PSB 

From 20 to 22 June 2024, Paris School of Business, hosted the 13th International Conference of the Financial Engineering and Banking Society (FEBS), in collaboration with the Centre for Research on Energy and Climate Change (CRECC). 

Bringing together scholars, practitioners, and policymakers from around the world, the conference offered a rich program of academic sessions exploring a wide range of themes—spanning banking, corporate finance, asset pricing, fintech, financial markets, energy economics, and the broader implications of climate and sustainability challenges on financial systems. 

A key highlight was the opportunity for researchers to submit their work for potential publication in special issues of leading journals, including the International Review of Financial Analysis, Finance Research Letters, and the International Review of Economics and Finance. Selected authors were also invited to contribute to a regular issue of the Journal of Financial Stability, further enhancing the visibility and impact of their research. 

As a prominent international forum, the FEBS Conference continues to foster critical dialogue and cross-disciplinary collaboration on the evolving challenges facing finance and society—positioning itself at the forefront of academic research and policy innovation in a rapidly changing world.

3rd International Conference on Digital Transformation Society - DTS 2025 

The third edition of the International Conference on Digital Transformation Society (DTS 2025) took place on 22-23 May 2025, at Paris School of Business. Co-organized with the University of Naples Parthenope, the event brought together more than 150 participants from 25 countries around the central theme: “Human-AI Collaboration as a Strategic Driver of Innovation.” The conference explored how the synergy between human creativity and artificial intelligence is reshaping productivity and innovation in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. 

Over two days, leading researchers, industry experts, and professionals exchanged insights on key topics including artificial intelligence, open innovation, smart cities, green finance, and digital transformation in the workplace. A keynote address by Prof. Pattie Maes (MIT), a pioneer in human-machine interaction, set the tone for high-level discussions.  

A standout moment was the exclusive roundtable featuring executives from Thales, UNESCO, Sanofi, and Bouygues, which fostered rich dialogue between academia and industry. The conference also offered exceptional academic visibility, with strong support from top-tier journals :  Technovation, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Journal of Engineering and Technology Management, European Journal of Innovation Management, and IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, helping to advance impactful research in digital transformation.

2nd International Conference on Digital Transformation Society - DTS 2024, 23 and 24 May 2024, Parthenope University, Naples 

The Parthenope University of Naples hosted the second International Conference on Digital Transformation Society on 23 and 24 May 2024.  

Co-organized by Paris School of Business and the University of Naples Parthenope, this year’s conference focused on the theme “AI-driven Digital Transformation in Firms, Industries, and Society.” The event featured scholarly debates across 11 thematic tracks, alongside meetings with guest editors and specialized sessions for doctoral students. 

This year’s conference attracted over 140 participants from 18 different countries and 68 academic institutions, with more than 110 papers presented. The DTS conference offered a valuable platform for exchange and collaboration. It also featured the participation of new journals, editors, publishers, and companies. 

The conference aims to provide a platform for management scholars worldwide to convene and deliberate on this pivotal subject. It also provides practitioners with the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of how digital transformation is reshaping businesses and society, drawing on rigorous scientific analysis.

1st International Conference on Digital Transformation Society - DTS, 23 May 2023 

Paris School of Business and the University of Naples Parthenope launched the inaugural edition of the International Conference on Digital Transformation Society (DTS 2023)—a new academic forum dedicated to exploring the multifaceted impact of digital transformation on business and society. 

This first edition brought together an international community of researchers who presented over 25 thought-provoking papers covering a broad spectrum of topics linked to digital innovation, organizational change, and technological disruption. Lively discussions followed each session, enriching the academic exchange and encouraging future collaboration. 

The conference also had the honor of welcoming editors from leading journals, including Technological Forecasting and Social Change and the Journal of Innovation Economics & Management, adding valuable editorial perspectives to the dialogue. 

Designed as a meeting point for management scholars and practitioners alike, DTS 2023 aimed to deepen the understanding of digital transformation through robust scientific inquiry. It provided a space where research meets practice, sparking new ideas and connections across disciplines and sectors.

Annual Workshop on Banks and Financial Markets at PSB 

 

4th Workshop on Banks and Financial Markets, 27 June 2025 

The 4th PSB Workshop on Banks and Financial Markets took place on 27 June 2025, at PSB. The event brought together scholars and policy professionals to discuss current challenges in the financial sector. 

This year’s presentations focused on: 

  • Sustainable finance and credit allocation – including green investment financing and the design of credit relationships. 
  • Shocks in credit markets – with new approaches to disentangling supply and demand forces in European lending. 
  • Safe assets and investor behavior – examining the global hunt for safety, investor similarity, and treasury market dynamics. 
  • Corporate responses to political and economic uncertainty – with a focus on firms' cash policies under populist leadership. 

The workshop continues to serve as a platform for exchanging research findings and ideas that inform both academic inquiry and policy decisions. By focusing on timely and relevant topics, it helps bridge the gap between theory and practice in banking and financial markets.

Held on 26 April 2024 at Paris School of Business, the 3rd annual Workshop on Banks and Financial Markets once again brought together leading scholars and experts from academia, central banks, and policymaking institutions. 

The event featured a series of insightful discussions centered around cutting-edge academic papers addressing the key challenges currently shaping the banking and financial sectors. These rich exchanges not only help participants stay informed on the latest developments but also inspire new avenues of research and contribute to more informed, effective policy decisions. 

Focusing on topics with far-reaching implications for both business and society, the workshop continues to gain momentum each year. It has become a vital meeting point for academics, business school researchers, policymakers, and financial institutions—establishing itself as a go-to forum for advancing thought leadership in banking and finance.

The 2nd PSB Workshop on Banks and Financial Markets, 12 May 2023 

Held on 12 May 2023, the 2nd edition of the Workshop on Banks and Financial Markets brought together leading scholars to share their latest research, explore emerging trends, and engage in thoughtful peer exchange. Participants presented findings on a wide range of timely topics, including bank behavior, performance dynamics, and the impact of regulatory policies on banking institutions and financial markets. 

Designed to foster academic collaboration, the workshop served as a platform for advancing research in finance and economics while also creating valuable bridges to the professional world. It offered researchers a space to refine their work through constructive dialogue and gave practitioners the opportunity to deepen their understanding of complex industry challenges through evidence-based insights. 

This edition welcomed contributions from researchers representing major European universities, alongside senior analysts and economists from central banks—reflecting the workshop’s growing role as a hub for impactful discussion and knowledge exchange across academia and policy circles.

CHAIR LIVING HEALTH Roundtable, 17 March 2023, PSB 

Organized by the Living Health Chair, the roundtable “What place for patient participation and experiential knowledge?” brought together diverse voices to explore the emerging role of patient participation and the value of experiential knowledge in shaping healthcare practices. 

The event aimed to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and stimulate research in this evolving area. Discussions focused on the challenges associated with integrating patients’ lived experiences into care processes, and the key conditions for making such contributions meaningful and impactful. 

Participants included researchers in marketing and management, patients actively engaged in improving care pathways, healthcare practitioners, and stakeholders interested in developing a more holistic and human-centered approach to the patient experience. 

This dynamic exchange highlighted the importance of building a continuous dialogue among researchers, professionals, patients, and institutional actors—laying the foundation for more inclusive, empathetic, and effective healthcare innovation.

CHAIR newPIC Workshop, 27 March 2023, PSB 

The NewPIC Chair hosted the workshop “Open Labs and Innovation Management” in collaboration with the MOSAIC research group at HEC Montréal and under the patronage of the Strategic Interest Group on Innovation (SIG) of the European Academy of Management (EURAM). 

Anchored in the insights of the recently published book Open Labs and Innovation Management (Routledge, 2023), the event featured contributions from esteemed guest speakers and co-authors who presented the outcomes of in-depth research. Discussions explored the unique positioning of open labs, their evolving organizational models, and their diverse impact on innovation and creativity management. 

While particularly valuable for scholars in innovation studies and management science, the workshop also offered practical takeaways for teaching, policy making, and professional practice. It served as a bridge between academic research and real-world applications, highlighting the growing importance of open labs as drivers of collaborative and strategic innovation.

Center of Research for Energy and Climate Change (CRECC) - Energy and Sustainability Day, 24 May 2023, PSB 

Organized, by the Center of Research for Energy and Climate Change (CRECC), Energy and Sustainability Day, marked by a thought-provoking debate on the impact of environmental policy measures on the energy transition. 

The event created a space for dynamic exchange between pioneering experts and researchers tackling some of the most pressing issues in sustainable energy. The discussions highlighted the complex interplay between regulatory frameworks, technological innovation, and market dynamics in shaping the path toward a greener future. 

Looking ahead, future editions of Energy and Sustainability Day will continue to bring together voices from the global research community in finance and economics. With a strong commitment to interdisciplinary dialogue and scientific rigor, the event aims not only to advance research in the field, but also to raise public awareness around climate change and promote the development of sound, evidence-based environmental policies.

The Workshop on Climate Change and Energy Finance, held at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, marked the first edition of a collaborative initiative co-organized by Audencia Business School, Paris School of Business, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, and the University of Geneva. 

This event created a dynamic platform for academics and practitioners to exchange ideas and critically examine the pressing challenges at the crossroads of energy, environment, sustainability, social transition, economics, and finance. With a forward-looking agenda, the workshop aimed to shed light on how financial instruments, regulatory frameworks, and investment strategies can support the global shift toward sustainable energy systems. 

Engaging and insightful exchanges explored the role of finance in accelerating the energy transition, emphasizing the importance of cross-sector collaboration and the development of evidence-based policies. 

Looking ahead, Paris School of Business and its academic partners are committed to building a comprehensive and interdisciplinary research programme focused on climate change and sustainable finance. Rooted in rigorous scientific inquiry, this initiative seeks to generate impactful research that informs policymakers, guides practitioners, and addresses the broader needs of society in the face of environmental transformation.

Annual Meeting of the Research Network on Innovation - RNI, 3 July 2023

Paris School of Business had the pleasure of welcoming members of the Research Network on Innovation (RNI) for their annual meeting, held on our campus. 

The event was hosted by Professor Nessrine Omrani, Director of the Management and Strategy Department at PSB, and served as a key moment in the strengthening partnership between our institution and the RNI community. 

This gathering reflects the growing collaboration between PSB and RNI, grounded in a shared commitment to advancing research on innovation and the knowledge-based economy. Recent joint initiatives between the two entities mark the first steps toward the development of impactful, interdisciplinary research projects, aiming to provide deeper insights into how innovation shapes economic and organizational transformation. 

This collaboration signals PSB’s continued investment in fostering high-level academic dialogue and contributing to research with strong societal relevance.
