Talk to current and former students

Whether you have the opportunity to go on campus or not, you can always take the time to talk to current and former students in order to evaluate the pros and cons of the programs. This will also show your interest in the school and its programs.

Take introductory courses

No need to have an extensive background in business-related courses to enter a top business school, but some of them require candidates to complete a few credits worth of elemental courses in fields such as finance, economics or statistics, either before applying or before starting the program. So again, don’t give your research a miss, and really get a good sense of what will be expected of you.

Be authentic

This piece of advice can be applied to any kind of interview, essay, or application in general. Bear in mind that the admission officers are interested in getting to know you, your experience and ambitions. It is easy to tell when someone is not being genuine, so try to differentiate yourself from the other candidates while staying honest. Schools are looking for diverse personalities so find a way to show your worth and what your contribution might be.
