Four day Event Management seminar in Berlin!

The MBA in Arts & Cultural Management students travelled to Germany for an exciting four day seminar led by Professor Fabrice Bonniot, expert in creative design (events, music, sound, and editing).
Event Management was the focus of this seminar in Berlin. As well as discovering the exclusive events, museums and impressive street art that the city has to offer, students had the remarkable opportunity to speak directly to specialists from the visual, musical and choreographic art industries.
Experiencing large-scale events first-hand is more essential than ever as Event Managers need to have an informed and comprehensive vision to successfully design and implement projects. So first on the agenda was a visit to the iconic Berliner Philharmonie concert hall to hear the spectacular Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, conducted by Matthais Pintscher.
Students then went onto meet various German and international artists and producers, including visual artist Robert Bartholot who welcomed the students in his private studio and gave them an exclusive insight into his photography work and experience in exhibition management. Students also met with Manuel Göttsching, a musician and composer, who shared his creative process and discussed the different influences in his music.
Music producer and sound engineer Bert Olke also invited students to his studio to demonstrate and explain the specific technical steps required to master electronic music.
One of the highlights of the four day seminar was the opportunity to meet the artistic directors of the Halle Tanzbühne Berlin: Toula Limnaios (Greek choreographer) and Ralf Ollertz (German composer). After watching a reharseal of new performance ‘Life is perfect’, Toula Limnaios provided students with an insider's view about what really goes on behind the scenes of the industry.
To end the four day seminar, Clara Moto, Austrian music producer and DJ, presented her work to students and shared her experiences and views about being a woman in the electronic music scene.
This 4-day seminar was the perfect way for students to enrich their knowledge about event management whilst expanding their professional network with industry insiders.
