In a context where careers in finance and consulting are evolving rapidly, the connections between companies and higher education institutions play a key role in preparing tomorrow’s talent. A partner of Paris School of Business, the firm Aplitec, a recognized player in accounting, auditing and consulting, is committed to supporting students in their transition into the professional world.
In this interview, Vanessa Coliche, Recruitment Officer, discusses Aplitec’s areas of expertise, the major transformations affecting the profession, and the importance of supporting young talent through work-study programs, internships and career opportunities.
Presentation of Aplitec and its sector
Could you introduce your company and its main areas of activity?
Founded more than 50 years ago, Aplitec now has 120 employees and is located in the 14th arrondissement of Paris. As a multidisciplinary firm, we operate in accounting, auditing and consulting, with expertise in HR and payroll, labour law, taxation and corporate law, review and consolidation, contractual audit and statutory audit, valuation and support for investment funds.
In your opinion, what qualities or skills are essential to succeed in your sector?
Beyond technical expertise, success in our sector relies on rigour, analytical ability and a strong sense of client service. Adaptability, curiosity and a willingness to continuously learn are also essential to thrive in an environment that is constantly evolving.
What are the major challenges or transformations currently affecting your sector?
The accounting profession is undergoing significant transformation, particularly with the introduction of electronic invoicing, which is profoundly changing practices and tools. These developments are accompanied by increasing automation and a stronger advisory role, requiring professionals to continuously upgrade their skills.
The partnership with Paris School of Business
What motivated you to establish a partnership with Paris School of Business?
We wanted to build this partnership to strengthen our connection with the academic world and support students in their professional integration. The quality of the programmes at Paris School of Business, their alignment with market expectations, and the close collaboration with the teaching teams naturally encouraged this partnership.
How does this partnership concretely benefit students?
This partnership, which has been in place for one year, takes shape through an active presence within the school: participation in career fairs and events dedicated to internships, work-study programmes and first-job opportunities, as well as using the career placement services to quickly respond to recruitment needs.
Supporting and recruiting young talent
How do you support the development and growth of young talent within your company?
We are convinced that the best way to learn the professions of tomorrow is through hands-on experience within a firm. That is why we offer young talents the opportunity to join our teams through work-study programmes or internships, directly involved in our assignments.
This approach has proven successful: nearly 80% of the young people we welcome are recruited at the end of their experience, a rate that has remained stable over recent years.
Each experience is unique, but our shared objective remains the same: to develop skills, confirm potential and offer permanent contracts to those who demonstrate long-term commitment within the firm.
How would you describe the ideal profile of a student or recent graduate you would like to recruit?
We are primarily looking for curious, rigorous and committed individuals who are eager to learn and grow. Beyond technical skills, we place particular importance on team spirit, a sense of responsibility and the quality of client relationships.
Advice for students starting their careers
What advice would you give students for successfully starting their professional careers?
Demonstrating curiosity, commitment and open-mindedness is essential. Being able to ask questions, adapt quickly and fully engage in assigned tasks helps develop skills and build solid foundations for the rest of one’s professional career.
