2025 award: celebrating pedagogical innovation

.

Paris School of Business reaffirms its commitment to pedagogical innovation in higher education by awarding the 2025 Pedagogical Innovation Prize. This 11th edition recognizes innovative teaching initiatives that transform the learning experience and strengthen the development of students’ transferable skills.

This year, the jury honored Karina Sokolova as the Prize winner and awarded the Jury’s Special Recognition to Meriam Razgallah, highlighting two immersive and engaged teaching approaches aligned with the contemporary challenges facing business schools.

Created to showcase innovative practices within the School, the Pedagogical Innovation Prize shines a spotlight on faculty members who experiment with new learning formats that foster engagement, creativity, critical thinking, and student employability.

Digital Fashion Runway: immersive learning at the intersection of luxury and augmented reality

The 2025 winner, Karina Sokolova, presented the Digital Fashion Runway project, developed as part of the Luxury Brands and Digital Innovation course (Bachelor Year 3).

This initiative transforms academic assessment into an immersive experience combining digital technologies, 3D modeling, and augmented reality. Students designed digital 3D fashion collections, showcased during a runway show projected in real time onto a physical model within the Learning Lab at Paris School of Business.

This innovative approach goes beyond traditional assessment formats to offer experiential, “learning by doing” pedagogy. Students become active participants in their learning process, mobilizing creativity, technical skills, and oral presentation abilities in a professional context.

Each participant leaves with a tangible project to include in their portfolio, strengthening their positioning in the job market within the luxury, digital, and innovation sectors.

Student feedback reflects strong engagement, improved understanding of academic content, and enhanced creativity.

Engaged pedagogy addressing societal challenges

The Jury’s Special Recognition was awarded to Meriam Razgallah for a teaching module that connects academic learning with contemporary economic, social, and environmental issues.

Her approach encourages active student involvement, collaborative work, and the development of reflective skills. By grounding learning in real-world situations, the module helps train students who are aware of ongoing transformations in the professional world and capable of analyzing their impact.

Through this distinction, Paris School of Business reaffirms its commitment to promoting meaningful pedagogy that fosters critical thinking and prepares future managers to thrive in a complex and evolving environment.
