On 8 June Dr. Geoffrey Ducournau will be the guest speaker of the monthly Research Seminar organized by the Departments of Economics and of Finance
Dr. Geoffrey Ducournau pursued a Ph.D. in Statistical finance at the University of Montpellier. His doctoral research focused on developing flexible stochastic volatility models using a statistical mechanics approach. His is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management (SEM).
His current research revolves around examining the impact of global staggered policies or random events on economic agents, with a specific focus on analyzing firms' behavior.
Dr. Ducournau will present his paper on "Assessing the Feasibility of a Nuclear-Free Green Energy Transition in Europe". The paper investigates the impact of the nuclear-free green energy strategy on the energy market and environment by underlining the adverse effects due to increasing gas, coal and oil reliance.
