Research Seminar: The relationship between Climate Risk, Climate Policy Uncertainty, and CO2 emissions: Empirical Evidence from the US

Dr. Panagiota MAKRYCHORITI will be the guest speaker. She will present her paper on «The relationship between Climate Risk, Climate Policy Uncertainty, and CO2 emissions : Empirical Evidence from the US » which examines on two major drivers of the CO2 emissions in the US namely climate risks and the climate policy uncertainty. Her presentation will shed light on their effects on the renewable energy use through the analysis of the cost of natural disasters and the Climate Policy Uncertainty (CPU) Index.

Dr. Panagiota MAKRYCHORITI is a lecturer in Financial Management at Birkbeck, University of London. She served as an adjunct lecturer and module leader at both the BSc and MSc programs in the Department of Accounting and Finance, Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), teaching modules such as “Advanced Portfolio Management” and “Behavioral Finance”. Her research interests lie in the areas of monetary policy, credit risk, international macroeconomics, behavioral finance, economic modeling, quantitative financial analysis and financial econometrics.
