International Conférence on Commodity Markets - January 16 and 17, 2014
The Energy Risk Management chair of the ESG-MS announces the first edition of the International Conference on Commodity Markets, to be held on January 16 and 17, 2014. Over forty economists from around the world will take stock of the latest markets trends in energy and agricultural commodities.
An open panel discussion will be held on Thursday 16 at 17:15 on the evolution of energy markets.
The conference will take place at ESG Management School, Paris.
Energy issues are more and more impacted by changes in commodities markets. Commodities markets have recently experienced huge price volatility, which implies new challenges for practitioners and policy makers. This phenomenon could reflect:
changes in traditional factors (supply, demand, and market structures);
a liquidity effect;
an increased role of complex financial products.
In this context, the objective of the Conference is to address new analysis for commodities market, policies and supervision. Theoretical, empirical and policy-oriented contributions from researchers and practitioners of energy issues are welcome. A non-exhaustive list of topics is:
Commodities market design;
Relationships between commodity markets;
Risk Management strategies in energy markets;
Market structure and competitive dynamics of wholesale and retail energy markets;
Valuation of multi-energy instrume
