The Master is designed to prepare students for careers in businesses related to the trading room:
- in the front office: traders who buy and sell securities and sales who make the commercial relation between investors and traders
- in the middle office: especially the Risk Controller who monitors and checks transactions
- as a back office manager: managing the activities of confirmation, clearing/settlement and reporting of transactions
The Master also opens to the jobs of credit risk analyst (analysis of the financial condition of customers and review of credit applications based on the risk of borrower default), bank risk manager (credit risk, market risk, operational risks and liquidity risks), financial analyst (analysis of investment opportunities), originator (design and issue of securities for corporate clients of business banks), portfolio manager or fund manager (purchase / sale of securities)
Eventually, with experience, this Master can open to the job of risk manager which is in demand and highly paid.
Four traditional job positions
The Master prepares students to job positions within financial markets:
Middle-office or back-office managers:
they manage activities related to the trading rooms. The aim of the middle office is to provide information to the front office, to control and check transactions. The aim of the back office is to record and perform administrative operations on one or more market products.
he operates within the front-office and is responsible for marketing the financial products to institutional clients. The assistant sales may conduct studies on the products sold by the sales, take care of the customer relations or perform performance simulations. The objective of the assistant sales is to become sales himself. Sales are taking care of the relationship with the customer whereas the trader will take care of the execution of the orders given by the customers.
Investment analyst or financial analyst:
he aims to study the financial and strategic position of a firm and provides investment recommendations. He may work for the front office.
Credit risk analyst:
whose work is close to the work of investment analyst, aims to study the financial situation of enterprises to provide recommendations on requests for funding for these companies. He reviews credit applications based on the risk of borrower default.
The Master also opens to traditional financial jobs such as trader in the front office (buys and sales products on the market), originator (design and issue of securities for corporate clients of business banks), portfolio manager or fund manager (purchase / sale of securities)…
Emerging jobs highly in demand
The financial crises over the last 15 years have led to the strengthening of risk management support functions within markets and business. These jobs have taken more and more importance are today highly in demand.
Financial risk analyst:
he identifies, describes and evaluates the risks taken by the bank. He is generally specialized according to a risk (counterparty risk, credit risk, market risk, operational risk). His profession is often associated with the risk controller who manages the exposure of the bank to potential risks (credit risk, market risk, operational risk).
with an extensive experience, he identifies, qualifies, evaluates and monitors all the risks of a business, and is not restricted to financial institutions. His aim is to limit the dangers that can generate the activity of the company on strategic, financial or operational issues.

The school is under discussion with the French Association Association Française des Professionnels des Titres (AFTI) to establish a labeling by the Master AFTI and help students find study contracts with partner banks.
