PSB Paris School Business, represented by Valérie Pasturel, Academic Dean of International Affairs and Rony Germon, Associate Professor in charge of the Master of Data Management has recently attended two intensive work meetings in Berlin and London for the creation and development of a Transnational Career Centre. The project lead by EBC Hochschule Berlin is being funded by the European Commission, with funds from the Erasmus+ Program, as part of the Europe 2020 strategy.
Within three years, synergies should be in use and available to both students and the public. By appealing to universities, the European Commission aims to form strategic partnerships within Europe, in order to secure the European Economic Area for the long term.
EBC together with its partner universities Regent’s University London, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, the Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan & Paris School of Business plan to implement the project in stages until 2018.
Jerome Rickmann, project leader and developer, introduced the topic at the Global Internship Conference in Dublin in June this year.
“The idea of a comprehensive, joint career center is new. Individual universities have already committed themselves to their own international career centres. The coming together of many international universities into one consortium, however, is unique. Having recognized this fact, the DAAD has awarded us the contract for the project. We would like to lead the way in this area and encourage others to do the same, since experience shows that small networks that target the specific needs of universities can work more expediently than large consortia are able to. In the Transnational Career Centre, joint resources of the participating universities should be utilized and the students should be optimally prepared for international careers.” Rickmann stated.
The goal of the project “European Centre for Career Development & Entrepreneurship” is to join forces with the four partner universities, in order to build a joint career center that offers students easy access to internships, exchange programs and job entry opportunities, whilst at the same time supporting them in terms of mobility and the job search abroad.
In order to create a synergetic effect, the independent career centers of individual universities, which until now, have operated nationally, are to carry out exchanges regularly, as part of the project, under the direction of the EBC Hochschule. This is exemplified by the exchange of know-how from the individual career centers in terms of the job markets in their respective countries, of cooperating partners that offer good job entry opportunities, or simply the development of mutual informative materials that give students a complete picture of their chances abroad.
As part of this project, PSB Paris School of Business will also host a Summer school: Entrepreneurship in Europe in July 2017.
