PSB Paris School of Business MBA Students Participate in Internationally Renowned Case Competition
In January 2011, four students from the PSB Paris School of Business International MBA program participated in the International John Molson Case Competition in Montreal.
Peter DAMM, Rachel TURNER, Asela DASSANAYAKE, Montserrat MAYER
The John Molson MBA International Case Competition is a not-for-profit event, the competition is open to top business schools worldwide, and is recognized as the largest competition of its kind. Its main purpose is to bridge the gap between corporate and academic worlds, which ultimately enriches both students and executives alike.
Please read below a first-hand account from Professor Jamie Smith who served as a coach for the PSB Paris School of Business participants.
“As a first time coach to the John Molson Case Competition in Montreal I learnt a great deal about the judges, the other teams, my team, and even myself.  We were immersed in recent dynamic real cases, even ‘live’ cases and competing against some of the best MBA students in the world. The judges have impressive CVs, often at or from the CEO executive level of leading Canadian multinationals. The coaches themselves are quite often leading academics in their fields and active in consulting.
My advice to any student contemplating participation: prepare well, work hard, network when there, and take home skills which will serve you for a lifetime. It can be nerve racking, you are likely to lose a game or two, but everything about the event drags you upwards and onwards.  Keep in mind that this case competition is widely recognized as being the best in world, the oldest, and an extremely professional event with highly regarded speakers.”
