Alumnus from MSc in Arts & Cultural Management curates her first exhibition
Beatriz Forti, former student of the MSc in Arts and Cultural Management, is now curating her very first exhibition. EXPERIENCITIES: Brésil – France brings together artists from both countries.
Doing the MACAM, Arts and Cultural management Master at PSB Paris School of Business, enabled me to learn the theory and practice of curating exhibitions.
The Mounting Exhibitions class provided information about the practical aspects of manipulating artwork, what makes an exhibition a good one. Students designed a theoretical show for the final project.
In Curating Exhibitions”, the entire class curated an exhibition at the Cneai art center in May. Students worked in teams and were responsibles for different tasks to achieve the final exhibition : administration, registrar, mediation, and communication.
Other classes (Intellectual Property, Legal business and Art History) were also really useful to in learning how to curate exhibitions.
During MSc Arts & Cultural Management program I met several new contacts from whom I learned expertise and gained the skills to curate my first show, EXPERIENCITIES: Brésil – France at the GALERIE UMCEBO in Paris. For this show, I invited French artists who produced work whilst in Brazil and Brazilian artists who made works in France. Their works refer to their visions of the new city, new lifestyle, new encounters, and new traditions.
